My name’s Jackie Robinson. I was born on 31st January ,1919,in Cairo, Georgia.During most of my life time,I lived in Brooklyn,NY.Since I was the first African-American to play major league baseball, I was considered to be an icon for African-American athletes, civil rights, and other social and political causes.. 　
　　After my discharge from the Army in 1944, I began to play baseball professionally. At that time, the sport was segregated, and African-Americans and whites played in separate leagues.At first I began playing in the Negro Leagues, but he was soon chosen by the Brooklyn Dodgers,.I joined the all-white Montreal Royals in 1946.After training in Florida with the Royals, I played my first game in Ebbets Field for the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 15, 1947. 　
　　I retired on January 5, 1957 .shortly after beating New York Yankees and leading my team to win the　World Series.During my lifetime, I only got one wife,her name’s Rachael Isum, and we had 3 children.I died on 24th October,1972 from heart problems.I should be 94 years old now if I did not die. 　
　　In 1972, the Dodgers retired my uniform number of 42, which means nobody could use that number since 1972.And soon the whole league retired the uniform number of 42 to show respect and memorial to my brilliant contribution for baseball and human right.
